Lance is 5’8 and weighs in at 125 pounds with semi-tanned skin that gets dirty very easily. He is tall and fit, but that was only because he is always hauling around heavy loads around the market when he is helping. His legs are only fit because of all the times he had ran away from the trouble he had caused. Lance has dark black hair that curls at the end, covering up the side of his face and ears. He has thick eyebrows that he thinks looks good. His eyes are narrowed almost all the time as cold grey eyes rest in-between. His face is oval with tight cheeks.

Lance has a scar running down his arm from an accident involved with his father. It reminds him of how much he hates Panem. On a normal day Lance will wear a tight dirty white shirt and jeans cut off at the knees. His feet are always fitted with hunting boots that he found in the market one day. On cold days he will throw on a baggy black coat. When it is the reaping he wears a blue collared shirt with nice white pants.

Lance is known by lots of adults in the district as a rebel. He loves to cause trouble and defy what his elders say. He has been caught a couple times by peacekeepers when he had been causing trouble. His father would scold at him if he came home with a peacekeeper by his side. But his Dad hated Peacekeepers; he just did it to make him not a target for the peacekeepers. After years ago with a fight with a Peacekeeper Lances dad was being closely watched.

Lance is known by a lot of people as a rebel but to lots of girls, he’s a flirt. He loves to flirt with girls and will go out of his length to get a girl to notice him. Like doing really stupid stuff like sneaking up on a peacekeeper and scaring him, then running away unnoticed. The girls giggle and he feels proud of himself. He has dated a few girls in his life, which is a surprise because people usually think he dates way more people. He prefers flirting to real relationships.

To his friends and family Lance is a great friend that will go out of his length to help a friend. He is loyal and smart when it comes to problem-solving. He as many friends but only a select few that he really is loyal to. He sticks up for his friends when they are not around and is trys to be honest with them. But nobody knows that he hates peacekeepers and Panem as much as his father.

Lance was born in the seam with a sick mother and a father. His mother got very sick after she had Lance and she died soon after. When his father tried to go to a peacekeeper and tell him that his wife had died and he needed help, the peacekeeper laughed at him and walked off; this is the reason why his father hates the peacekeepers so much. His father held on strong and used small knowledge that he had learned for taking care of his son. He wanted his son to grow up strong and not have to fear Panem.

Lances childhood was happy for a boy living in the Seam, he had gotten many friends from around the seam and used to play with them whenever he could. His dad, after years of saving since Lance was born, he had been able to purchase a goat that Lance named Curley. Lance loved to play with Curley and learn how to milk from a friend’s father. When school started and when Lance came home from school with friends he would show them Curley and they would all play with him. His father said they were blessed that Curley was such a patient and healthy goat.

At the age of 11, Lance was with his father at the market. They were browsing for cheap goods when his father saw a peacekeeper picking on a one of his older friends. His dad marched straight up to him and told him to get away from him. The peacekeeper whipped him quickly and went for another. But Lance ran up to his dad and tried to block him. The peacekeeper whipped Lances arm and then walked off. That is how he had got his long scar.

During Lance’s first reaping, he used all the words of courage his dad told him about in the face of the reaping. He muttered gently to himself, “be brave Lance, be brave.” He believed those words to be luck and whenever spoken they would protect him. He had stood there every year muttering those words. 5 years of luck they have brought, 5 more years to his life. Now at 16 he studies hard and volunteers in the market to use his strength to earn money.
