His skin is a deep dark brown color which is complemented by his crisp hazel colored eyes. He keeps his hair shaved down to a very short length so it does not interfere with his everyday comings and goings. He is tall for his age of 17, standing at a height of 6'1" but doesn't look it due to his strong build. He has broad shoulders and rough hands from a life of hard work.

He is mostly seen dressed in his work attire comprised of a dark gray tank top, dark navy blue work pants and heavy black work boots. He bares the crest of his families ranch, two hammers crossed over a bull nose ring, which has been branded into his right shoulder. The burn looks old and has long since healed leaving it a dull redish pink pigment.

Bascull is a very proud person, proud almost to the point of over-confidence. This trait tends to distance him from most of the other children of District 10, this doesn't bother him much due his individualistic mind set which has him convinced that working in a team tends to just hold you back and that you can accomplish so much more if you go at it alone, which tends to come across as relentless competitiveness.

Most of Bascull's intense over-confident nature is due to his constant fear of failure. He is always worried that for some reason or another, he won't be able to live up to the expectations he sets for himself as well as the expectations of others. This is why he always pushes himself when working at home on his families ranch, as well as at the District school, forcing himself to work long hour with no rest, tirelessly trying to better himself as a person.

Although he usually comes across as over-confident in reality Bascull is a truly humble person due to his limited means, being from one of the lower socioeconomic districts. He is a firm believer in the value of respect, but finds it hard to show it because he doesn't want it to be seen as a sign of weakness. This fear of been seen as weak also contributes to Bascull's habit of distancing himself from and not trusting people around him (people other than his close family that is).

(I know parts of this contradict other parts, but is meant to come across that way. Sort of goes to show a personality clash bought upon from his fears)

Bascull was born into a family of very little means, that owned a struggling cattle ranch on the outskirts of District 10. He experienced a relatively normal upbringing his father, Hescule taught him all there was to know about cattle farming, just as his father had taught him when he was a child. He always admired his father, a powerful man who was both physically strong and wise in the ways of the world. Bascull constantly pushed himself to impress his father, making sure to listen to everything he said and trying hard to complete every task his father set for him.

Because Bascull lived so far from town, he spent most of his time alone attempting to perfect the skills his father would teach him. The only time he really had a chance to interact with the other children in the district, was when he attended the district school but even then he generally chose not to socialize much, he was only there because he had to be. He had a rather spiteful attitude towards the capitol and the peacekeepers of District 10 because he had seen the way they walk all over the citizens of the district, always taking more livestock than they need for the capitol.

When Bascull reached the age of 12, his father branded him with the crest of his families ranch as is tradition for all the men of the Hammin family, they do it out of respect for the cattle that they raise showing that they will go through exactly the same pain that the animals go through, it's the mark that all men in his family have received to show that they have become a man.

As Bascull grew older he continued to hone his skills as a cattle farmer. Growing stronger and wiser under the teachings of his father.

As you can tell I'm reasonably new to this. Any help building my character will be greatly appreciated.
