Katilynna is one of the daintiest 16 year old's in District 12. Her height at a whopping 5'2'', and her weight of 115 lbs. She reels in a BMI of 21.1. From years of climbing and pulling herself up into trees, her forearms have built up impressive muscle for a Seam girl. She is relativeley skinny as well, having to feed 4 others than herself.

Her hair is a goldish brown, with some dark brown undertones. It falls just past her chest, with a natural straightness. Her eyes are a light gray, with a hint of blue in the center; around the pupil. She also has very tiny hands and feet, which she uses for an advantage in climbing, but she also sees them as a disadvantage. They slow her down in some skills, but can be very useful at times. She has a small freckle on the right side of her nose, many people seem to admire it but, she never understood why.

Her right hand has a scar in between the pointer finger and the thumb from an accident that occured before her biological father was killed. She has numerous minor scars along her hands and feet. Her face is oval shaped, roman nose, natural medium sized lips.

Katilynna is a very forgiving person, which is an advantage of achieving friendship, but also a disadvantage. Most of the time she keeps to herself; she is only open to her brother Finnit and her best friend Hemming (whom she calls Hem for short). Forgiving but, also distrusting. It takes her a while to take to a new person. But once someone is on her side, she will never break the trust.

She is also very strong, having to feed a family of 4 (not including herself) is difficult. She is handy at a knife and relatively good at hitting her target with accuracy. Katilynna can be slightly optimistic at times of deep depression or anxiety. She gets anxious a lot; and depressed. Given the burden of two biological parents deceased, and her adoptive father, she had been left alone practically her whole life.

She loves the outdoors though, her and Hem go there to release their feelings to each other; this is why they're so close. Long strolls through town with him calm her. She is also very jumpy; which is mostly a disadvantage, but it allows her to be aware of things. Katilynna is very observant. She can judge a person by their cover and guess what they're like (which most times she's right). Overall- She is a down to earth girl, but is hard to become close to.

Katilynna Mae Whitlock was not born a Whitlock. Her adoptive parents had changed her name after they had took her in. Katilynna was born under the name of Titus. Her biological mother Veena died from childbirth, her father still remained. That is, until he was forced to work in the coal mines.

She was at a friend of her fathers the day he was killed. He had been murdered over the little coins he recieved from his job. The murderer was never punished, but that day began Katilynna's tough transition from family to family. The Capitol gathered her and her belongings and placed her in a willing home, the Whitlock's. The Whitlock's were a poor but close family living in the Seam.

She soon became close to them, but, not entirely. At the age of 10, her adoptive father had taught her how to distinguish certain species of plants and animals from one another. During his years with his parents, his mother had taught him about animals and his father about plants. He had known the flora and fauna that reside in the surrounding wood by heart, and wanted to pass it down to one of his children. His uncle had taught him to throw knives, climb, andhow to fight as well. Any time Him and Katilynna would practice climbing, throwing, or basic combat, they would mostly retreat to an abandoned open space. Her father had told her she needed to be 'very, very cautious' when she practiced, so, he took her to a line of abandoned houses about half a mile from their own. This is where they practiced and where her father taught her everything she knows. The family was now not of 3 people, but of 6. Her adoptive mother had bore 3 more children; a boy and two twin girls.

Katilynna grew fond of her brother, Finnit. The twins weren't so greatful about her though. They always thought she shouldn't tell them what to do, even if she was the eldest. Just when things seemed wonderful in life, them making money and the children getting by, their father is took from them. Stannan Whitlock was took by the Captiol for protesting against it and the Games.

She was 13. They lost money fast, so she applied for a tessarae; giving them a portion of oil and grain.

One afternoon she went behind her house which is on the edge of the woods to grab a towel that Finnit had left outside. She was heading back to her house when she heard a rustle in the bush behind her. She whipped around and out came a boy; Hemming. They ended up talking and for the first time, Katilynna trusted someone. Ever since, they have been best friends. She thinks she might even have a little feeling for him.

She mostly gets her money by winning bets she places with the people of District 12. Trading helps too. They're still short of food. Katilynna usually gives her smaller siblings a part of her ration of food she accumulates. Hem and her sometimes ration their food together to help, but it doesn't help out too much.
