The Gerber family has a reputation for being a group of attractive individuals, and Amity, the Gerber baby, is no exception. Her naturally curly brown locks are similar to the hair of her two older brothers, though hers is about a foot longer. Amity's dark brown irises almost blend in with her pupils. When she is excited, surprised, or curious, her eyes seem to be larger than life. On the contrary, when she is experiencing any other emotion, her eyes shrink to where the pupils are barely visible. Her cheekbones are high and stand out when she smiles, but she doesn't mind. She believes that they're cute, and that everyone else does as well. Standing at five feet, six inches, Amity's height is very average. She is at a healthy weight for her height and age, weighing in at one hundred and twenty sevens pounds.

Amity's fashion sense can be described as "retro". She enjoys wearing knee length floral dresses, which was the common attire of a housewife in the 60s, before the Dark Days. Amity loves to experiment with any old dresses she can find by adding a little modern flare to them. Her pearly white teeth are always outlined with her signature dark red lipstick, and she is almost always found with a headband in her hair. Amity's nails are always in perfect condition, and are painted when she can find the time and resources to do so. She absolutely loves shoes, and despite her family's middle-class wage, she has quite an impressive collection of heels.

"Sit back, relax, and most importantly...enjoy."

Amity Gerber is nothing less than a strong female, though she frequently acts as though things bother her more than they actually do for dramatic effect. She has a very bubbly personality, and is one of the most talkative people you will ever meet. Amity genuinely wants to be your friend, and won't push you under the bus unless you hurt her or if there's personal gain involved. She has an ambition that is far beyond her years, and a lust for being the center of attention. If she wants something, she'll work hard to get it, no matter the price she may have to pay.

Amity can be very arrogant, and things frequently go to her head. She's not very understanding, and if you do something that she doesn't like, she usually won't let you explain. Behind the sweet looking eyes is a soul full of enmity and animosity. It's not her fault she is constantly bitter to people who threaten her, or so she says. As mentioned previously, Amity wants to be the best, and can have some sociopathic tendencies when she's not. She loves the whole act of being an "innocent little angel", and isn't above blaming someone for things that she does. In fact, she does this frequently, and always gets away with it due to the fact that the Gerber family could never produce anything other than perfection.

Amity's charming, sweet nature is all a lie. Behind every cover she has thrown over herself, Amity Gerber is one of the most fake people the citizens of District Thirteen have ever encountered. Ever since she was little, Amity has been spreading lies to her peers, hoping to become more interesting than all of them. Amity has told so many lies, even she can't distinguish who the real Amity Renee Gerber is. She lost herself on the road to perfection, acceptance, and popularity.

"I've been acting since I was a fetus, literally."

Amity Gerber was the third and final child of Monte and Serena Gerber, five years younger than her eldest brother and three years younger than the middle child. Stanton and Crawford Gerber at first resented the high demand infant, who seemingly would never stop crying at night. As the three siblings matured, their bond seemed to deepen. At age five, for her first Kindergarten assignment, Amity wrote about how her brothers were her best friends. Amity loved Kindergarten, as it was her first introduction to music in her music class. How she enjoyed drumming on old buckets with wooden spoons! However, Amity's favorite lesson in that music class was singing. She absolutely loved it, and was a natural at it, according to her music teacher. Amity figured she was the best in the district, and this new sense of pride got to her head.

One day on the playground, Amity was pushed down by a blonde haired girl who told her, "You like singing. You're weird." Amity was absolutely devastated. Her child mind couldn't comprehend why singing was weird. It was fun! It was what she liked to do! Amity was very gullible back then, and believed what the mean girl had told her. Anything that wasn't normal was wrong. From that moment forward, Amity didn't want to be herself. She wanted to be the popular, bubbly, sweet, pretty, normal girl. And so that's who she became. It was fairly easy for her to pick up what normal girls were supposed to do, supposed to wear, supposed to say.

As Amity grew up, she grew farther apart from her brothers. When she was 12, she started becoming jealous of them; their looks, their friends, their popularity. They were stealing her spotlight, and that wouldn't go well with her. There had to be a way to get more friends, Amity thought. And then it hit her. She didn't have to be perfect to get attention; sometimes, a pity party was better than fans. Amity carefully devised a new back story, one where her brothers weren't her brothers, and her parents weren't her parents. The Gerber girl was satisfied when her friends all rushed in for hugs when she informed them she just found out she was adopted. She has been using this to her advantage ever since, sometimes getting out of trouble with a little bit of fake crying. She's perfectly content with her lifestyle. She doesn't need friends, no, everyone has friends.

She needed fans.
